Unfortunately, another soldier from the Detroit hip-hop movement has left us. Slum Village was always one of my favorite groups, but when Jay Dee and Baatin parted ways things never seemed the same. Before J Dilla died there was talk about a potential Slum Village reunion, but it never happened. However, I was happy to hear that the past termoil had finally been squashed between Baatin and remaining SV members (Elzhi and T3).
Fortunately, Baatin was able to contribute some verses for the upcoming Slum Village album. Sadly, the new project will be the last time fans ever hear these three Detroit emcees doing their thing together...
