PEABO VS. TEDDY (SLOWJAM SHOWDOWN)

This is another musical battle from two legendary balladeers Peabo Bryson and Teddy Pendergrass. Both of these artists have proven track records, especially when it comes to delivering memorable slow jam classics. An don't sleep on Peabo either. His career started before those Disney duets for Aladdin and My Little Pony that most people know him for. Take a listen and hear for yourself...

FREDDIE VS. LUTHER (QUIETSTORM)
When it comes to soul balladeers, two of my favorites are definitely Freddie Jackson and Luther Vandross! They've both given us several classics in the name of love over the years, and today I am showcasing some of my favorites from their slow jam collection with an old school Quietstorm feel. Nothing like a good rain storm to set the mood.

DJ SOUNDNEXX VERBAL MILK MIXX!

No matter how much time passes, I will always have love for hip-hop music! Over the last couple of decades, the sound of the genre has drastically changed. Some of it is good, but a lot of it terrible as far as I am concerned. I won't bother getting up on my "soapbox" ranting about how many rappers don't spit rhymes anymore, and how the content suffers because of it. Some of you may feel totally different about the subject, and I can respect that. Like you, I have a choice about what artists make it into my listening rotation, and today I am showcasing some of the emcees on my radar in this mixx. There are some new, classic and remixed tracks on this joint! When you get a chance, put your ears on it. If you like what you hear, then show some support.

4GOT-N-REMIXX 2 (90'S THROWBACK)
The 90's aren't considered the "Golden Era" just for hip-hop. It's also known for being the decade when the hottest remixes were created! I think all songs should be remixed. That just me though. There is a major diffrence between a beat maker and a music producer. A real producer knows how to build a song from beginning to end. That ability allows a producer to transform any song into something new. A remix in 2013 is adding another rapper or singer on a song, or spitting a slightly different verse over the original beat. That's not a true remix in my opinion, and it's a pretty lazy approach if you ask me! A REAL remix is when the original song is totally reworked and transformed into something else like Megatron. It needs a new beat (slower or faster than the original), different lyrics, reworked hooks and melodies to make it a legit remix.

What I like most about Rahsaan is his consistency with making quality music. All of his albums are solid, and that's rare these days. SOUNDNEXX HIP-HOP ANTIX MIXX!
I've been a real hip-hop music mood lately. It all started when I rewatched Ice-T's documentary film "The Art of Hip-Hop" a few weeks back. It's a solid film, and it reminded me about some of the hip-hop artists that I'd forgotten about. Back in the days when rap was original, exciting and fun. I immediately became inspired, which resulted in me digging in my music archives searching for some overlooked underground hip-hop to share. So, this mixx is the product that was cr
eated from the goodies I found. I keeps my eyes and ears on the underground music scene to find artists that still have a hunger for the craft. Artists that possess ginuine passion. I support those artists, and you should too...

SOUNDNEXX GHOSTFACE KILLAH KUTS MIXX!

True Golden Era hip-hop heads are definitely fans of the Wu-Tang Clan. They changed the game when they hit the scene back in the early 90s, and rap music would never be the same. You ask any Wu fan who's their favorite member, and you will hear different answers. My favorite Clan member is definitely Ghostface Killah. Tony Starks is dope, and all of his solo album releases have been solid throughout the years.
This lastest mixx is paying homage to Ghostface by showcasing some my favorite tracks. Put ears on this joint when time permits and add more of the Wu-Tang Clan in your music life...

SOUNDNEXX HIPHOP GIRL STORIEZ MIXX!
The subject matter of women are a common thread in the male dominated world of hip-hop music. Recently, I've heard a few newer tracks on this topic by some of the younger rappers, and for the most part they stunk! There was no originality, creativity or real emotions showcased whatsoever. I don't mind explicit lyrics, but use them with purpose. Younger rap fans need a hip-hop refresher, so for that reason I dug in my music archives for some classic joints.

I made a mixx showcasing some of my favorite raps songs discussing the female species. These lyrical stories vary in content, but their good nonetheless. I think a part two of this mixx will be necessary because I was unable to include all of the tracks I wanted. Put ears on it immediately if you love hip-hop!

WNEX RAYDIO VOL. 1 - SOUL
Urban radio pretty much stinks around America. Music and artists with originality and freshness have been replaced by annoying, cookie-cutter type trash. Not all, but most of it. Basically, independent artists barely get heard, and even some established and respected musicians get ignored if they don't fit within the radio format box. If you are listening for the lastest and greatest artists making quality music the most urban radio stations are useless in 2013. It irritates me to hear the same songs over and over again within a 30 minute period! I used to make these mock radio podcasts years ago I called "WNEX Raydio" that was full of good music I felt needed your ear support. I'm bringing radio back once again, so here is the first of many joints. This is a soulful R&B edition...
